BMW’s i3 was one of the earliest mass-market EVs to come to market, and really helped to establish this German firm as a leader when it comes to electric cars.
In recent years, the German firm has followed this up with a number of impressive new EVs, with a line-up that continues to grow. There’s a choice of SUVs, saloons and hatchbacks, let’s look at the electric BMWs available today.
iX1 – from £53,295
Kicking off BMW’s line-up is the iX1 – a compact electric SUV that would make a great smaller family car. Sold alongside combustion and hybrid-powered versions of the X1, this electric model boasts the best performance and has no compromise when it comes to interior space.
It was one of the first BMWs to use the firm’s brilliant Curved Display interior setup, and boasts a competitive range of up to 270 miles.
iX3 – from £64,165
One of BMW’s more traditional electric models is the iX3, which has been hugely popular for the German firm. With a classy, stylish look and high-quality yet uncomplicated interior, it’s an ideal model for those that want an EV that will slot seamlessly into their lives.

That’s reflected in its bold design, and though its looks won’t suit all, it’s hard to dispute the iX’s wonderful interior and superb driving experience. Boasting a range of up to 382 miles and a mighty ‘M60’ version that packs more than 600bhp, the iX is easily one of the best electric cars that can be bought today.

The i4 is great to drive, has a stunning interior and has an impressive electric range of up to 365 miles. It’s a key rival to the Tesla Model 3, and eclipses it in most areas as well. If you want more performance, there is the 537bhp M50 model – BMW’s first electric ‘M’ car.
